James E. Hammond, CHBC, CPA founded Healthcare Management Consultants, Inc. in 1980. He graduated from Albion College with a BA in 1962 and received his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan in 1967. He earned his CPA designation in 1967 and became certified as a healthcare business consultant in 1974. Jim is a member of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served on numerous national boards including the Society of Professional Business Consultants where he was elected President from 1980 to 1981. He has also served on the board of the Institute of Certified Professional Business Consultants, the Professional Consultants Liability Insurance Company, and the Editorial Board of Dental Economics Magazine. Jim has also served as a member and contributor to Dental Advisory and Dental Economics magazine. Jim has been a frequent speaker to various dental societies including AAOMS, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, Marquette University Orthodontic Residency, ADA Practice Management Division, Winnebago County Dental Society, Brown-Door-Kewaunee County Dental Society, Outagamie County Dental Society, Marinette County Dental Society, and Sheboygan County Dental Society. In addition to providing practice management and personal financial planning services to his clients, Jim is also frequently called to provide expert testimony for practice valuations for a variety of legal purposes.
Donald J. Stewart, CHBC, CFP, joined Healthcare Management Consultants, Inc. in 1983. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1979 where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, majoring in Finance and Human Resource Management. He became certified as a healthcare business consultant in 1989, and has been licensed as a certified financial planner since 1989. He is a member of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and the Institute of Certified Financial Planners. He has served on the National Board of Trustees of the Institute of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and the Board of Directors of the National Association of Healthcare Consultants. He has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the National Practice Management Newsletter Professional Practice Today from 1988-1997. He has also served on the practice management consulting staff of Medical Economics magazine since 1988. Don is a frequent speaker at medical and dental society meetings and does regular education sessions on practice management to the University of Wisconsin Family Practice Residency Program as well as Marquette University’s College of Dentistry and specialty residency programs in prosthodontics, endodontics and orthodontics. Don's consulting practice is limited to physicians and dentists and he provides practice management services and personal financial planning to dozens of doctors and practices throughout the states of Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
Michael J. Dejno, CHBC, CPA has been in the healthcare consulting business since 1991. He is a Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Mike received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He earned his CPA designation in 1997 and became certified as a healthcare business consultant in 1998. He is member of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants. Mike has also taught education sessions at the Marquette University’s College of Dentistry residency programs. He provides practice management consulting as well as tax and accounting services to physicians and dentists in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota.
